Transforming Managed Network Services at Scale
Problem
A global retail company needed to rethink its managed network services environment for its U.S. operations and stores. At the time, services were spread across multiple incumbent providers, creating operational friction and commercial inefficiency across a large, business-critical estate.
The client wanted more than a routine rebid. It needed a sourcing process that addressed pain points with the existing vendors, improved service quality, and set a higher standard for outsourced network support across more than 2,000 sites.
Solution
TC2 worked with the client to understand where the existing managed services model was falling short, both operationally and commercially, and then built an RFP strategy around those findings. We developed the full RFP package, managed the sourcing process and bidders, evaluated supplier responses, and facilitated the client team’s evaluation and collaborative interactions with the bidding suppliers throughout the process.
The scope was extensive. It covered managed network services for more than 2,000 sites, including WAN, LAN, WLAN, security, DDI, cloud network services, and voice infrastructure, along with dedicated engineering, third-party vendor management, and project and resale services.
TC2 also led all pricing and commercial negotiations and, together with LB3, helped develop and negotiate a custom network outsourcing agreement with the selected provider. The result was a managed services model designed to improve performance while giving the client a stronger commercial foundation for the long term.
